  The official Hurley Cemetery (NW of crossing of RR X US Highway 180) is stark and austere, a gritty place and experience that mirrors the toughness of the town and the people who lived nearby. Many graves are unmarked or the markings have become so weathered and aged that they are no longer distinguishable. Hurley was a "company town" for the copper smelter and mine employees, neatly kept for many years. The cemetery and the town have both been through difficult times. An additional (poorly identified) cemetery was also used for burials. Access to the additional unofficial cemetery/scattered markers is (restricted by small sign) at southern end of 2nd Avenue at approximately Arizona Ave. GPS info is rough, but 32.690568, -108.128307 should be close. The Hurley Town Government Center can be VERY helpful with cemetery and grave information when available.
